Letters to Kate

In 2004 Scripture Union published a book that i wrote, its a collection of letters written to a girl during a 4 or 5 year period between leaving home and heading to uni through to a gap year abroad.  Although Kate is a fictional character the letters cover issues that seemed to come up regularly amongst those i was working with and in responding to them i shared much of my own journey.

Back cover text:

” Looking at life with a God – perspective has its challenges. There’s all the stuff around career and money. Confusing messages about sex and relationships. and, if you’re trying to follow God, there’s the added pressure of checking out if what you want to do is what he wants you to do!

Kate struggles to live the God-life, finding her way through the stresful and sometimes lonely transition from school to college, battling with burnout over exams and coping with the huge demands ofa year working overseas.

Claire is just a little further on the journey. In sharing her own experiences, she gently guides Kate via letters, postcards and emails.

Honest, moving and genuinely insightful.
