Glad to be alive today

Its been a while since i have blogged and i am at the end of a glorious spring day sitting in the sun lounge at the Cave’s home in Beckley. As if to dismiss any doubt that spring is here, as i type, a woodpecker is enjoying the nuts in the bird feeder on the window. The garden is alive with the colours of primroses, primulas, blue bells, daffodils, crocuses, tulips and flowering heather and there isn’t a cloud in the sky. After spending most of the last eight springs in the southern hemisphere i am once again reminded of the gift we have up in the northern half of the earth – that every Easter time, the whole of creation becomes a parable of the breathtaking hope we have because of the death and resurrection of Jesus. There is something in the sights and sounds and smells of spring, in the feel of the warm sun on my skin, that makes the gladness in my heart bubble up and i can truly say that i am grateful to be alive.
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord smile upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favour and give you his peace.

Lovely Claire, you had me right there taking in the scene out the window. One of my cherished childhood memories is of carpets of bluebells in ‘The Woods’ next to my home in Hampshire. Loved seeing them growing wild en masse. Like you I’ve hardly blogged for ages, nice to see you back.
